Eric Walters è canadese, e vive e lavora come insegnante a Mississauga, Ontario. Tutto è iniziato nel 1993. Ai suoi studenti non piaceva leggere e per stimolarli Eric cominciò a scrivere. Da allora di libri ne ha scritti ben 45. Con i suoi romanzi, apprezzati dalla critica ma soprattutto dai ragazzi, ha vinto numerosi riconoscimenti e ottenuto dall'UNESCO il Premio Internazionale per la Letteratura al Servizio della Tolleranza. Oltre che venduti in Nuova Zelanda e l'Australia, i suoi libri sono stati tradotti in francese, tedesco, svedese, norvegese, cinese, olandese, coreano e giapponese.
