Biografia Rudyard Kipling

Joseph Rudyard Kipling (30 dicembre 1865 – 18 gennaio 1936) è stato uno scrittore e poeta britannico, nato in India. La sua opera più nota è sicuramente il racconto per ragazzi Il libro della giungla (The Jungle Book) (1894), e anche il racconto di spionaggio ambientato in India Kim (1901), le poesie Gunga Din (1892) e If— (1895) e molti altri brevi racconti.

I suoi scritti sono stati usati largamente da Robert Baden-Powell come strumenti pedagogici nello Scoutismo; in particolar modo il Il libro della giungla è il testo che fa da sfondo alle attività svolte dagli scout più piccoli (dagli 8 agli 11 anni) chiamati lupetti.
