Recensione Anthony Burgess Intervista Audio
Meglio conosciuto per il suo romanzo: "Arancia meccania", Anthony Burgess racconta di quando il suo dottore nel 1959 gli aveva diagnosticato un tumore maligno al cervello e aveva solo un anno da vivere. A quel punto Burgess divenne uno scrittore a tempo pieno e scrisse il suo romanzo più famoso. Il dottore si era sbagliato e Burgess scrisse e visse per altri 40 anni.
In questa intervista del 1985 con Don Swaim Burgess discute dell'Arancia meccanica e dell'adattamento cinematografico del 1970. Discutono di T. S. Eliot ed anche di D. H. Lawrence che Burgess chiama un profeta con idee simili al buddismo Zen.
Anthony Burgess spiega perchè pensi che tutti gli scrittori sono pericolosi e dice che tutti gli scrittori di successo hanno bisogno di scrivere 1000 parole al giorno.
