Cave Beyond Time (English Edition)

Malcolm j. Bosse Libri

Orphaned teenager Ben is still reeling from the death of his father and brother in a car accident. Now his uncle, an archaeologist, is the only family he has left. And yet ? While his uncle understands Ben?s pain, there is still work to be done. And that is how Ben finds himself at a loose end on an archaeological dig in the Arizona desert. Seeking some solitude, Ben wanders off alone ? and is bitten by rattlesnakes. While Ben deals quickly with the bite, there is still venom left in his bloodstream ? And so begins a surreal adventure ? but is it a dream, a voyage through time or a delusion caused by the venom? Or is it something more profound? Ben finds himself face to face with what seem to be prehistoric people, and in time they take him in. It is about as far from Ben?s modern life as it is possible to be. But as time goes by, Ben becomes increasingly well integrated into the tribal group, and he develops skills ? and relationships ? that strengthen and enlighten him. He fights, grows, and loves. Gradually, Ben?s modern life fades into the distance. Yet still, even for Ben, wherever he is, time is passing and death is affecting him there, too. Life, it seems, is teaching him something ? Can Ben ever come back - and if he can, would he want to? Cave Beyond Time is a multi-layered tale of loss, change and adjustment that explores some of the fundamental universals of human experience. Praise for Malcolm Bosse ?Fraught with emotional, intellectual and historical drama ? a story of impressive richness and intensity? ? Publishers Weekly ?A deeply moving novel of a young boy?s search for roots in two countries.? ?
