Fang Fang (il suo vero nome č Wang Fang) č nata a Nanchino nel mese di maggio 1955. Si č laureata in letteratura cinese all’Universitŕ di Wuhan. Dopo aver lavorato in televisione, si č dedicata alla scrittura.
Fang Fang č considerata una rappresentante importante della "letteratura sperimentale" e al tempo stesso della corrente neorealista.
Oggi dirige una rivista letteraria dove promuove i giovani autori del suo paese.
