La figura della poetessa Proba è stata oggetto di numerosi studi e a lei è dedicata una voce specifica nel volume XII° della “Catholic Encyclopedia”, consultabile on-line. Il fascino della sua personalità deriva molto anche dal fatto che, com’è noto, non si hanno numerose attestazioni di donne dedite all’arte poetica in età antica e il profilo di Proba rappresenta, dunque, un’eccezione degna di nota.
